In recent years, a new feature that appears along with search results has become a hotly debated topic. Yes, we are talking about the knowledge diagram. What is a knowledge diagram?







The Knowledge Graph is a system started by Google to create a "link diagram" between different people, places and things and to report facts about these entities. How does Google collect these facts?







2009 - Google Squared was launched to extract facts and create a relationship between individual entities. Google Squared extracted data from the web and presented it in a table format. As the derived results were complicated and not user-friendly, they had to phase out this project.






2010 - Google bought Metaweb and acquired Freebase, a database of facts. For example, Google's Knowledge Graph was partially supported by Freebase with its extensive collection of facts. Then Wikipedia, CIA, Facebook became further sources of information for the Knowledge Graph.

However, drawing data from public sources such as Wikipedia poses accuracy issues because Wikipedia can be modified by anyone.
