Six Painless Ways to Save Plenty of Water💧

Rapid increase in world population + decline in freshwater resources + mismanagement and waste of water + uncontrolled pollution = threat to the survival of humanity on earth.

Isn't it imperative that we take serious action if we are to prolong human life on this planet? Let's start small - directly from our own household.

1. Repair drip taps

The bathroom is the place with the highest water consumption in the house.

Leak water 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Did you know that a leaky faucet can waste enough water to fill a bathtub every week, almost 32 liters / day?

In most cases, all that is required is an inexpensive washing machine, which is more than sufficient to stop such leaks.

2. Detect leaking toilets

Even the smallest leak in your toilet can waste 500 liters of water a day.

Regular checks can easily spot invisible leaks. Just add a few drops of food coloring to your toilet tank. Even without a single flush, it means you've successfully investigated a leak in your toilet when the paint begins to appear in the toilet bowl.

3. Reduce toilet flushes

Flushing the toilet uses 9 liters of water. 15 times a day 135 liters / day.

Use modern, double-flushable smaller tanks to save water, which is used in abundance this way. If you have larger tanks, 1 plastic bottle can save almost 18 liters of water a day without affecting the efficiency of the toilet.
Take a quart plastic bottle and put 1 or 2 inches of sand / pebbles in the bottom. Fill the rest of the bottle with water and place it in your toilet tank away from the actuation mechanism. Easy

4. Fill the automatic washers

A standard washing machine uses 100 liters of water to wash an average load, but an Energy Star certified washing machine uses less than 55 to 70 liters, which saves an average family 22,000 liters of water a year.

Likewise, an Energy Star certified dishwasher can save almost 11 liters of water / load. That's almost 18,000 liters of water a year. Just make sure you only run both automatic washing machines when they are full. Save an amazing amount of water in the process.

5. Limit shower time

In the average household, showers are usually the third largest water use after toilets and washing machines.

Showering accounts for almost 17% of household water consumption - at least 10 liters of water per minute; 8 minutes a day 400 liters / day.

Way 1: The best way to save water while showering is to use a water efficient shower head.
Way 2: Limit your showers to the time it takes to lather, wash up, and rinse off. The aim is to complete all of these steps in a maximum of 5 minutes.

6. Stop running taps

Not using taps while shaving or brushing your teeth can save you up to 750 liters of water per month. Isn't it a very surprising amount? Now let's start saving water -
Step 1: moisten the brush before brushing.
Step 2: Turn off the faucet while brushing.
Step 3: After brushing, fill a mouth rinse glass. Well done!

Save water - save life - save earth
