Hello everybody!
It's been a while (I think it feels that way anyway) since I've talked about eyeshadow and palettes and what my favorites are right now. I recently did a minor clean up of my collection and got rid of some old pallets. Out with the old, space for the new! Nevertheless, with my #OneMonthOnePalette project, I also discover some golden oldies in my collection.
Today I wanted to go through all of my eyeshadows and palettes and pick out a couple of shades that I reach for on a daily basis to create a soft but defined look, put something on the lid and still keep my look, of course, these are the colors I do personally would call it "naked", but as we have all recently learned, what is called "naked" to one person is called "too light" to another person. I'm not saying "here are all the nude tones you should be using" as I know these are most likely never going to work on dark skin tone. I'm just sharing what I personally enjoy using on myself and I would love to read your suggestions in the comments if you have darker skin and what to use to create a look that you consider neutral or would rate naked for yourself!
Urban Decay Naked Honey Palette - Colors: Flyby, Sweet, Hive, Drip
When I use this palette on a daily basis, I usually focus on the matte neutrals the most. Since they don't have a super orange tint, but tend to have a yellow undertone, they make good neutral colors. I often use this first highlight shadow to lighten my inner corners. I've reached for this palette a lot this month as it's my #OneMonthOnePalette for September. Keep your eyes peeled for next week's recap!
Fenty Beauty Snap Shadow Palette 7 Cadet - Shadows: Apply
I really bought this recently so I didn't get a chance to test it out well, but I've used the medium brown matte shade here a few times and I've really enjoyed it so far. It's such an easy-to-wear shade that goes with any look you're looking for. I love how practical this little palette is, and I can imagine I can take it with me anywhere. The quality of these shadows is great too, they are so pigmented and you really only need a small bath to get an amazing payout.
Nars Narsissist Range Wanted - Biarritz, Contentment, Seven Heaven, Shadow Hill
I know I've talked a lot about this palette lately and that's because it was my #OneMonthOnePalette back in August. I found this on the website, so it wasn't a limited edition after all? BUT I want to encourage the thought of going over what you have and not buying every single new palette that comes out as it is easy to get sucked into the hype and I have noticed that once it is released, it always does wears off quickly because weeks after you have it in your hands something else is added. Anyway, long story short, I still love this palette a lot even after all the years I've owned it, and it's mostly the 4 colors in the top left corner, the 2x2 grid that does the perfect neutral quad forms and I will dive into 90% of the time I use this palette. It has a light, matte shade ideal for setting my eyeshadow base, a highlight shade for the inner corner, a lighter and a darker matte brown to create the perfectly contoured eye without actually wearing a lot of eyeshadow .
Zoeva Blanc Fusion Palette - Colors: Travel Inspired, Joy in a Box, Conched, Matter of Taste
The matte shades in this palette are definitely on the cooler side, and that's what I like about this palette. I have way too many warm toned eyeshadow palettes and I don't need any more, but it feels so refreshing to use this palette from time to time. The four lightest mats in this palette make a great palette for a soft, defined, everyday look. There's not much to say about this other than that I really rate the Zoeva quality of eyeshadow. Check out these for amazing color stories, great quality, and affordable prices.
Smashbox Photo Edit Eye Shadow Trio Snap Queen Palette
Lastly, I'd like to throw in a trio here that I really haven't used enough. It's a purple tinted mini palette but I think when I apply it it still looks ...
